In the beginning!!

Well now. Everybody who knows my mum will know how much difficulty she has had in applying her febrile brain (her word, not mine - I don't understand it!) to the task of producing a blog. We think this is it - but don't hold your breath.

So

About 18 months ago, I said I would like to walk from Lands End to John O Groats. Mum and Dad said I couldn't do it on my own, so I said they could join in if they chose their own charities- I didn't want them butting in on my efforts for SARDA (Search and Rescue Dogs Association). This is a wonderful, entirely voluntary organisation, that has trained on our farm and does a brilliant job locating the lost and wounded in adverse circumstances.

Dad thought this was a good idea and mum tagged on. They are going to walk for Help for Heroes to help our valiant wounded soldiers and their families and in Derbyshire, are supporting a local charity, Helens Trust, that supports the terminally ill, helping them to stay in their own homes for as long as possible.

Obviously we have been doing some training, and in later blogs, I shall be telling you all about our adventures on the 'Coast to Coast" this summer.

Also in later blogs I shall be letting you know our itinerary, and the details of how you can contribute. Make no bonios about it we want your money for the charities, but any support  will be welcome, specially moral!!

Keep in touch - we need you
